the road trailer, part II

A new trailer for the long-awaited (this is getting ridiculous) film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's The Road. Personally, I say its a fine-lookin' little trailer, but I will admit - the music gets kinda strange there in the second half. This is a movie about post-apocalyptic death and cannibalism in a cold and hellish landscape, right? I know there is beautiful hope as only McCarthy can write, but let's be real here: This is not Mighty Ducks.

A less ridiculous version (I laughed so hard watching this. I hope you do, too):

I also noticed that the music choice in the new trailer was strange. I think it may be an attempt to point to the small amount of hope in the story. Supposedly the first screenings of the film (I think they happened LAST year...geesh)left people pretty depressed. I'm guessing the Weinsteins want to put a more hopeful spin on it to get there $$$...
Of course, if the people at the screenings had read the book they would have known they were not going to see the feel-good movie of the year.

I wish someone would slice the first half of trailer two and the second half of trailer one together. That would be about right. And they could edit Charlize Theron out of it.
