Very good list, although I wish you would leave a little comment on why you liked each album.
nice list. too bad i don't live with you anymore so that i can steal these in order to listen to them.
good call on the felice brothers. quite underrated as far as i'm concerned.
nice list.
have you heard of frontier ruckus? they put out an amazing album this year called The Orion Songbook that you would probably like
I love you for including the Dodos.
I liked that album more than Fleet Foxes, but hype will be hype and there isn't much I can do.
good idea, anonymous. done.
kata, i'm guessing you've seen them live? they are like a sugary punch in the face.
other anonymous, I have not heard of frontier ruckus. thanks for the suggestion.
and jolson, i'm glad you love dodos. and yea, hype will be hype - and sometimes its for a reason.
hey ben!
albums you should try out:
1) Little Joy - S/T (Fab Moretti who is in the band. He is the drummer for The Strokes)
Basically, it's a simple but charming self-titled debut. It's one of the most unsassuming, tastefully executed and perfectly timeless sounding records of the year. It sounds like Beach Boys meet Bob Marley meet Sam Cooke. It's also great because of Noah Georgeson's uncanny production.

2) Priscilla Ahn - A Good Day
I think I would describe this album the same way you described Juliana Hatfield's album (which I've never heard) but yeah...it's a lust thing
Just watch this and you'll understand:

I can give you the album when I come home for break.
3) Also, Air France has got some good painting songs, like Quiet Village, sort of.
Great list. I happened upon your list through your post on stereogum. I had some of the discs on your list already so I thought I would try a few I did not have and they were excellent. Thanks for the suggestions. Might I suggest you take a listen to Matthew Ryan MRVSS
Deer Tick
Glasvegas
Frightened Rabbit "The Midnight Organ" My favorite record of the year.
I saw the Felice Brothers live recently and they were killer bee. One of the best live shows i have seen in a long while
I am SO pleased that you have Breathe Owl Breathe on here...
I can't say I love all of your list, but I'd certainly put Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver in my top three, the Dodos and Okkervil River in my top ten.
Next goal: find a list with Breathe Owl Breathe and Shearwater.
i get it now. you said Juliana Hatfield is just a lust thing....because her 2nd song on her CD is called "just Lust"
